Q

Can I copy a local GPO for Office to a Win2k DC?

Is it possible to copy a local GPO created for Office XP on a PC to GPO on Win2k domain controller?
You can copy a GPO, using Group Policy Management Console, if the GPO exists in a domain. To my knowledge, you cannot copy a local GPO. However, you can export a security template -- the security configuration part using Security Configuration and Analysis. However, the greater question here is why you want to. There are many items that can be configured for XP that cannot be configured for Windows 2000, so copying this GPO may not produce the results you want. It also has the potential of doing some harm.
