Certain XP systems retrieving automatic updates

I have 34 XP systems, but half of them are actually retrieving Windows updates via the automatic updates feature! They are all configured identically. Any idea why this is happening?

Do you want them all to receive updates? None of them to receive updates? Either way, if some are receiving updates and others not, there are two possible reasons. First, of course, they may have some configuration difference either in how automatic updating is configured or in some area that impacts how that feature works. So, while you say they are configured identically, do you mean for updating or everything? Second, some systems may not have access to the Internet, or the updates may be blocked. Is there any difference in the location of the systems on the network? Perhaps if you can find something the ones that are not receiving updates have in common with those that do, it will give you an idea to follow up with... As it stands, you don't provide enough information to be able to tell that.
