Clear the hard drive BIOS password

I have a Dell Notebook and the previous owner put a hard drive password in the BIOS. I want to replace the hard drive and I need the password to do it. How can I clear the hard drive password in the BIOS. I do not want to disassemble the computer to get to the MB jumpers or CMOS battery.
There are several ways of doing this with a Dell and it depends on your specific model. Check out this thread for some specifics.
