Configure automatic updates using Group Policy

Most of my Windows XP users do not have Local Admin rights. Can Windows Update still perform its work on their computers without elevating user privileges?
You can use Group Policy or local registry settings to allow your systems with non-administrative users to take advantage of Windows Update or local SUS systems. Microsoft has a Knowledge Base article describing the configuration and issues available. The article also includes information specific to Windows XP systems.
