Did the hotfix install or not?

When installing critical updates on Windows NT 4.0, I get a message that says "Installation completed successfully," I click OK and then I immediately get a message saying the Windows NT 4.0 hotfix installation did not complete. What's going on?

In the Winnt directory, you should see a log file that has the same name as the hotfix you are installing (for example, Q828026.log). Open this log file and review any errors you see. This should give you a better idea why the hotfix is not installing completely.
