Q

EAP basics

This is a pretty simple question but I cannot find it anywhere on the web. What does EAP stand for?
EAP stands for Extensible Authentication Protocol. It is essentially an extension to the Point-to-Point protocol used for dial-up connections. EAP allows the dynamic addition of authentication plug-in modules at both the client and the server ends of a connection. More information is available in the RFC 2284 "PPP Extensible Authentication Protocol (EAP)." The website for RFCs is http://rfc.atc.no.
