Q

How can I check and report if security patches are completed?

How can I report the status and check if security patches are completed on clients other than by using Add/Remove programs? I'm using SUS 1.0.
Download Microsoft Baseline Security Analyzer. It can be used at the command line to collect reports on patching from multiple machines. Dump this data into a database such as Access or SQL Server and run queries. MBSA can be pointed at your SUS server and use its list of approved patches. MBSA will report patches that are not installed.
