How can I recover my Win2000 logon admin password?

I forgot my Win2000 logon adminpassword. Can you show me any tricks or registry tips to recover it? Is it possible to break the password from regedit?
Three possibilities come to mind. First, if you can install another copy of Windows on the same computer, boot it and delete the same file for the original Windows. Reboot the original Windows and the password for administrator will be blank. (In case you are wondering, this will not work for Windows Server 2003.) Second, there are third party utilities that do this. Visit LINK THIS:wininternals.com and purchase ERD commander. Third, use a copy of NTFSDOS Professional to do the trick in one. Finally, there are many utilities out there that can replace the administrator password. They do so by booting to Linux, then changing the password. Use at your own risk. (Search on password crack, or lost password to find them.)
