How do I choose a Windows security scanner?
It depends on what you want to do. For simple port scanning, I love SuperScan by Foundstone The latest version of SuperScan also performs other security tests on Windows systems looking for vulnerabilities such as null sessions, registry access and more. For more in-depth security testing, I'd recommend looking at the commercial vulnerability assessment tools. I like GFI's LANguard Network Security Scanner and Qualys' QualysGuard.
