Setting permissions so only certain file types can be saved into a particular folder

Is it possible under Win2K to set permissions so only certain file types can be saved into a particular folder? It would be great if this were possible.
Windows 2000 files permissions are based on security identifiers (SIDs) or users and groups. I suppose you could set the permissions to only allow a single account write access and then assign that account to a service. Then you could write an application for saving files and base it on folders and then make that application use the service. Sounds like a bit of work, but it might implement your solution.
