Why are my WinXP SP2 PCs hanging when connecting to network shares after all AV software is updated?

WinXP SP2 computers are hanging when connecting to network shares. The SP has been applied to all PCs, and they all have Symantec antivirus or trend AV. All antivirus is updated. I scanned all PCs in vain. Please help!
Did this start when you applied SP2? What is the OS running on the share machine(s)? Has it been patched? Sounds like a potential NIC driver issue. You're probably going to have to contact Microsoft on this one.
