I got a worm or virus in an IM from a friend. It was a link that said "is this you." Have you heard of this and do you know how to get rid of it? It sends the same message to everyone on my buddy list.

This sounds like the Morbex worm. Your best bet is to unload MSN Messenger (or whatever IM client you're using) and run a full system scan. These instructions from Symantec appear to be pretty helpful.
