QUESTION POSED ON: 03 March 2005 Since I tried installing Windows XP SP2, my Outlook Express won't open without an error. I can no longer use this to read or send e-mails. Is there a way to restore just the Outlook Express? I don't want to have to do a full system restore, because then I lose a lot of useful stuff I have installed recently.

If you go to the Control Panel and double click on the "Add/Remove Applications" icon, you'll see an option to add/remove Windows components in the left task pane. Double click on that icon, and it will list all optional Windows components including games, Windows Messenger and Outlook Express. Uninstall Outlook Express, reboot and reinstall it. Before you do, you may want to write down your e-mail settings and back up your mail files and address book.
