QUESTION POSED ON: 08 March 2005
My system is Windows XP and when I run Tech-in-a-Box it states that the system backup is not found and it gives Run Error 76. I have tried to restore my backup partition and have been unsuccessful. Could you help?

>
It's unclear from your question whether Windows is generating this error or if it is coming from "Tech in a Box" -- or if you mean "Runtime error 76. Path not found."

In the case of the "path not found" issue, I would suspect that the application was unable to find the source of your backup files in the location specified by that application. It is possible it was moved, removed, deleted or renamed. Windows backups are stored using a .bkf extension, so I would check your partition to see if it still exists. If it does, you may try using the Windows Backup and Restore Wizard to reclaim your files.
