In an ideally secure network, you will have one user to a machine -- each with their own unique password. But if you absolutely have to have a common log-in on one of your workstations, there are a few points you should be keeping in mind:
  1. Put a password on the e-mail files -- a deterrent at best, but better than nothing.

  2. Train, train, train -- teach your users never to allow a web browser or other program to save login information.

  3. Force (manually if you have to,) a password change more frequently on these workstations than others in the organization.
