Cleaning up items in Startup menu can help PC run faster

Your computer could be performing slowly because all the icons listed in your systems tray are programs that begin running when you start your computer. Help your computer run faster by cleaning up items listed in your Startup menu.

  1. Go to Start/Select/Run and type msconfig.
  2. In the dialog box, click on the Startup Tab to see all the programs running on your computer.
  3. Uncheck all unessential software (it's best to leave Scan Registry and System Tray alone).

Note: Unchecking programs does not remove them from your system. They just don't start when your computer does.
