I'm trying to hide all the icons on the right side of the taskbar, but I have no idea how to go about it. I was wondering if I could get any assistance. One reason I want to do this is because I use pcAnywhere on my network and don't want anybody using any of the workstations to disable or terminate the pcAnywhere app running on any one of these workstations. I use Win98 SE.
Hiding the icons on the right side of the taskbar will not prevent someone from disabling or terminating the pcANywhere app that is running. It may make it harder for them to do so, or prevent some accidental occurrences, but remember that Windows 98 basically treats all users as administrators on the system.
Meanwhile, it's been a long time since I?ve used Windows 98, but can you not just right click on the button on the bar and select delete? Check out this article. You can also manipulate them using Visual Basic; see KB article Q162613.
